“Es la persona más punk que conocí”: así habló Matt Healy de Greta Thunberg

Matt Healy, el líder de The 1975, celebró el espíritu de la activista climática Greta Thunberg, a quien se refirió como “la persona más punk” que conoció en su vida.

Recientemente, la banda liderada por Healy se unió a la joven figura para crear un ensayo acerca de los efectos del cambio climático. Este formará parte del tema de apertura del próximo disco de The 1975 Notes On A Conditional Form. Toda la plata recaudada de la canción será donada al grupo ecologista Extinction Rebellion.

En una entrevista para Pedestrian.TV, Healy contó cómo fue su primer encuentro con Greta: “Cuando la vi por primera vez en el estudio, a través de un vidrio esmerilado, se podía ver su figura. Y como dijo Slash, “para ser verdaderamente icónico, debes ser reconocible desde la silueta”.

Añadió: “Ella es reconocible desde la silueta. Fue realmente poderoso”.

Healy y The 1975 no son los únicos que apoyan a Greta Thunberg. La niña sueca estuvo en las pantallas de todo el mundo en la última semana por su poderoso discurso en las Naciones Unidas y a raíz de esto varios artistas se unieron a la campaña por intentar de frenar el cambio climático.

Billie Eilish, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Joe Jonas, Camila Cabello, Chris Hemsworth, Janelle Monáe y Ellie Goulding son algunas de las figuras públicas que dieron su opinión sobre el tema.

Por su parte, Mark Ruffalo aprovechó el momento para criticar al presidente de su país: “El no tiene el coraje para parar y saludar a esta joven y valiente mujer”.
